2 How to Use this Guide

This guide should be used to check that the chip card profiles are compatible with Thredd by following this process:

  1. Go through each setting item in this guide.

  2. For each item found:

    1. Read the comment against it. If value is ANY, you can ignore it.

    2. If the value is not ‘ANY’ then:

      1. Look up the corresponding item in the chip card profile.

      2. Compare the value in the chip card profile to the comment in this guide.

      3. Any mis-matches must be flagged.

  3. Items in the Non-Profile Settings section are normally configured at Thredd, and/or the Card Manufacturer.

Completing your Chip Parameters Validation

The Card Schemes require validation of your card chip personalisation. The process is called Visa PVT (Personalisation Validation Testing) or Mastercard CPV (Card Personalisation Validation). The CPV is used to verify that all chip devices meet the Scheme's personalisation standards. CPV includes various aspects such as EMV data preparation, key management systems, and secure PIN administration.

Thredd recommend you refer to this guide before completing your chip validation form, as it contains details specific to the Thredd platform.
